Hi! I'm Julia Morales...
I was born on an Air Force Base in Columbus, Mississippi and raised mostly in Houston, Texas. I have a younger Sister named Victoria who is the Mother of my two beautiful and hilarious nieces and an even younger brother, Daniel who is a killer college basketball player.
After graduating high school, I attended the University of Houston and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York and LA. After taking classes at AMDA, I realized I'd be a better fit in the world of improv comedy thanks to Francis Callier (a Second City alum). I have studied acting and improv comedy for over ten years. I studied and performed at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT), Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), and The Magnet Theater in New York. I created an improv community based program called, "10,000 Hours" where students have the opportunity to strengthen their improv skills through inexpensive improv workout sessions. The program is currently being ran by the current director and my best friend, Michelle Thomas (www.chelleshines.com)
Currently, I perform on an ensemble with The Second City Theatricals on the Norwegian Cruise Lines. I've performed on The Norwegian Star, Dawn and Gem. I'm also studying and performing at the iO and Annoyance Theaters here in Chicago. I perform with my indie teams, Third Rail and Jekus. I recently closed my second solo performance called, "Don't Tell Me To Shut Up" in the Chicago area and I'll be bringing it back in Fall 2016. I'm also in the midst of writing a web series which will begin filming in Fall 2016.
When I'm not performing, I'm blogging about movies on my Tumblr blog (morningmoviewatcher.tumblr.com), exploring the city of Chicago, catching up with my family and friends, riding bikes, dancing in my favorite Werq class, listening to music, writing/journaling, playing video games, or doing anything that is worth my time.
